PREPARING FOR A PHOTO SHOOT
Exterior Photography
• Make sure that landscaping is best it can be.
• Check exterior furniture and décor to make sure
that it is situated as you would like to see in the photographs
and that extraneous furniture and/or décor is removed.
• Check to make sure that all lights are working –
for twilight shots.
Interior Photography
• Make sure that the room is set up as you would
like to see it in the photograph.
• Check to make sure that all lights are working and that
there is no extraneous décor.
• Bathrooms may be featured if appropriate. Best towels
and full amenities will help greatly.
• The following “props” can add richness to
a photograph:
Vase of fresh colorful flowers
Bowl of colorful fruit
Plate of fresh baked goods w/cup of tea or coffee
Signature robes
Candles if you allow them
Bottle of champagne and/or wine with glasses
Several upscale magazines & a few hardbound books
Food Photography
• Prepare a full breakfast (colors, textures
and variety make the best show)
• Make sure that the dining area is just as you want it
to look in the photograph
• The place setting is also an important part of the breakfast
presentation
• Make use of candles if these are appropriate
• Include fresh flowers if possible or a single stemmed
rose
• Evening refreshments can also be photographed using
the above suggestions
Staff Photography
• Important to dress in a professional manner –
conveying confidence to future guests
• Choose a setting that compliments innkeepers / staff
